Story
In the heavens above, the Seven Fates gaze upon the earth, troubled by the growing isolation of its people. Moved by compassion, they devise a plan to forge a sacred flame imbued with fragments of their divine essence: Humility, Charity, Justice, Gratitude, Temperance, Patience, and Diligence.
Together, they breathe life into the flame and send it to the world below, bearing the light of Generosity.
Seek out the scattered kindlings across the land. Offer them to the Flames of Fate. Ignite their warmth — and rekindle Generosity in a world that has forgotten its glow.

The image below showchases all 7 of the fate mask created in clip studio paint. the mask designs are based on various africn masks. each mask has its own unique personally and symbols/features that represent their connections to a specific element.




my original plan was to animate the fates for the opening and closing scene. and to have them diplayed on the outeredges of each zone. I wanted to animate them holding up their own space and watching players as they ingnited the flame, but I cut this to save time on the project and focus more on having clear gameplay.

The assets above were designed for level construction and in-game obstacles.
For the art style, I aimed for a painterly approach that emphasizes color, shading, and texture over hard outlines. This choice was intentional—to create a visual contrast that complements the game’s minimalist aesthetic. The backgrounds and walls were made using simple shapes and flat colors, allowing the textured assets to stand out while still feeling cohesive within the game’s world.

Levels

This level, is the first zone players encounter. There are fans that rotate and blow wind, blocking some of the paths the player can go. If they get caught in the wind too long, the player would extinguish and be reset.
In this level, players have to gather kindilng to bring to the flame without being extigushed by the raindrops. there are moving platforms players can use to get across without worry of the rain.


This level introdcues switches, and gates. The candles must be lit to open the gates to blocked off spaces, giving the player acess to more routes.
In this level, I introduce players ability to burn obstacles. player can burn vines blocking their path.


This level expands upon the gate and switch mechanic. in this level, players must light 2 candles to unlock the gates instead of one.
